Welcome to the Pages of Grannie B!!!!!
This world holds treasures beyond our comprehension! Nature and Science are filled with the wonders of our Creator! From the dawn of its awareness, I have sought out the beauty an filled my soul with it. These pages are personal expressions of how that love of natural beauty has interwoven itself into my life.
ART
Through Art I have found ways of capturing priceless moments in time. Ink, watercolor, pencil and oils are mediums that have suited my endeavors of personal expression. I was trained in the Burnely school of art and graduated 1981. Since then, I have painted signs, Christmas windows, murals, portraits, illustrations, dabbled in caricatures, created logos, business cards, stationary, and even published a color book.

SEWING
About 8 years ago I entered an unusual genre for me... Ballet Costuming for our local company " Northern Dance Theatre" owned by the infamous Laura Golphene. Together we have built a stunning repertoire of costumes for the studio. The process of creating these costumes channels my mind into a three dimensional mode, where a faceless model is posed on a pedestal... turning in a slow circle. Here I begin my mental focus as Laura introduces me to the dance we are costuming for. As the music plays and the girls perform for us, she explains to me the technical nuances of the moves they have learned for the year, she shares the style of music, dance and costume type she is seeking and fills me in on any peculiar charms of the dance. As the information accumulates in my mind, I begin to analyze the rhythms and flow, the colors the music and girls combined create on the stage, the length of the costume, accessories, fabric type and body structure of the girls. When they are finished we chat with the girls about their thoughts on the style of costume, color and accessories. With this information in hand, I create a mock up of the costume to fit a mid range student in that dance. Taking it into the studio, one of the girls tries it on and the remainder of the students, the teacher and I watch. Together, we all analyze it and make modifications as necessary. This has been an amazing journey for me.

NEWFOUNDLANDS
CHRISTMAS PUPPIES!!
I have been an animal lover from childhood. I suppose I am more attracted to Dogs because of my initial connection with them in our home since my birth.
Dominions Creekside Newfoundlands came about with my first purebred Newfie "Bonnie". She was something! Protective, helpful, mischievous and soul touching, she was friend beyond compare. Together we gardened, managed a chicken flock, scouted the forest, biked, swam and eventually had a litter of pups. From that litter of amazing pups we have seen pups on our farm almost yearly. The children are actively involved in handling the babies for socialization, they clicker training them for ease of transition to a new home as well as initialing obedience lessons that create a lasting desire to learn in the pups heart when applied at such an early age.

COLVILLE APARTMENTS
Colville Apartments has been a passion of my husband Jeff since 2002. It has been a fabulous investment for his retirement. His fastidious upkeep of the grounds has lended an overall beauty to our place that supersedes all other apartments in our area (in my opinion). Catered for the elderly, (which occupy around 85% of our rental units) we host a variety of floral landscapes (and a few raspberry plants I convinced him to plant) to entice the eye (and mouth during raspberry season) in a quiet setting just off main street. Conveniently located near the postal service, court house, library, police station, coffee shops, chamber of commerce and other shops on main street, our apartments are a real oasis in the heart of a city.

We grow the most natural way we can for our family. We have not and do not plan to go organically certified. Wholesome for the kids is good enough for us. We strive to use quality fertilizers acquired from local farmers to feed and build our soil. Mountain fresh water, thinning and personalized pruning also make for the best we can possible do to create the best fruits possible on our farm..
